Overview

We are pleased to present our 2016 Q1 release. This release features the following changes:

• Automatic Country Identification
• Batch User Interface
• Install Manager Improvements
• UDPRN for UK

This document describes these changes in greater detail along with installation instructions, things to be aware of and other helpful tips.

Local API Updates

Automatic Country Identification

Automatic Country Identification allows processing of an input record for verification even if the input does not contain the country name or ISO code. The Local API will attempt to identify the country based on what is in the input. Automatic Country Identification’s success rate depends on the following factors:

• Availability of locality information in the input
• Availability of administrative area information in the input
• Availability of postal code information in the input
• Presence of character sets that tie the input to a specific sub set of countries ( example: Thai character sets might indicate that the country is Thailand )

The success rate of Automatic Country Identification increases if most or all of the above information is available. This feature is part of the GBG Loqate Engine and is not ON by default. Please refer to the server option listed in the section labeled New Server Options to enable Automatic Country Identification.

Batch User Interface

We are introducing a new executable that is capable of running a batch file only on windows 32 and 64 bit platforms. A screen shot of the executable is shown below.

The batch UI allows:

• Selection of a Loqate data folder which is remembered across sessions.
• Selection of input file for the batch run.
• Specification of output file name and folder for output.
• Creation and/or use of existing configuration files. Each configuration contains:

– Mapping of input fields to GBG Loqate’s standard address fields

– Values for various server options

– List of required output fields

– Selected Processes

Install Manager Improvements

A few improvements have been made to the Install Manager. The main improvement is to allow downloading of various certification binaries in addition to the certification data. This applies to any license that contains license items for CASS, SERP or AMAS certification data packs. Please refer to the Installation Instructions document on detailed steps and screen shots.

UDPRN for UK

The DPS enhancement data pack (product code: DSEGBRD) has been updated to include the UDPRN field.

• UDPRN is an 8-character numeric code which is a unique reference number for each Delivery Point in UK.
• This field is available in the updated data pack via the field name UDPRNKey.

New Server Options

Enhanced Country Tool

This option allows users to enable the Automatic Country Identification. To enable the option, set the value of the option to “ON” or “True”. To disable the option set the value to “OFF” or “False”.
