We are pleased to present our 2013Q2.0 release. The main features of this release are:

• Premise point geocoding for 55+ countries
• Significant Search and Query improvements
• New Tomcat Java-based REST API for internal Web Service usage
• New Installation Manager (beta)

In this video, Loqate CTO Paul Flew and the Development Team take the time to discuss the new features and demonstrate the functionality in this release. Such topics include:

• Point Level Geocoding on a map of 700 records ran on both the 2013Q1 and 2013Q2 Loqate Engine. This comparison between releases shows we now have Premise Point geocoding vs. Interpolated geocoding for 56 countries.
• Search improvements which include the ability to better handle unrecognized data; closer alignment with Verify output; the ability to better handle partial input; results sorted by AVC; and several new options (SearchLikeFieldCheck, SimpleParse, RunMatchWithinSearch) available which are on by default).
• New QueryTool functionality which highlights the ability for a simultaneous query on specified multiple fields.
• The New Tomcat REST API which is an API that exposes the exact function of the Local API through a representation of a RESTful web service.
• The new License Installation Manager which addresses the limitations of the current installation process such as: separate API and data installers; inability to update data from an existing installation; and inability to select countries to install within regions. Our beta version of the Installation Manager solves all of the above!

General Suggestions and Tips

For the best results, install the 2013Q1.0 release as soon as your application development cycle allows. The 2013Q1.0 release makes improvements in both throughput of the verification process but also in the quality of the results.

Please remember to update both the program files and the reference data. The improvements in the Loqate Engine are tied to the data in the Global Knowledge Repository and the combination works better. If a reason exists in your application that both cannot be updated, please contact Loqate Support prior to upgrading so we can help you.
